Advanced technology is a huge part of logistics. UPS Quantum View® is giving the logistics team at London 2012 the ability to see, track and manage everything that’s coming in and going out, from the smallest package to the largest pallet of freight.
Along with Quantum View, UPS has one of the most comprehensive tracking delivery devices in the industry. It’s known as the Delivery Information Acquisition Device (DIAD). With it, our drivers can enter shipment data from almost anywhere by simply scanning a bar code. And with its built in GPS system, drivers have more detailed directions to pick up and delivery points. It is increasing tracking and efficiency, all while improving customer service.
We’ve also created a proprietary system of telematics that combines information about the variables that affect fuel efficiency in the delivery process. This enables us to use our delivery vehicles as “rolling laboratories” in which we can test and report on how the vehicle performs according to speed, direction, braking, and other specific components. In essence, we’re monitoring our own performance at London 2012 in order to achieve the best possible results.
It’s advanced technology that keeps London 2012 running smoothly. And it’s UPS logistics that can help manage your shipments, keep your customers happy, and help your business run smoothly as well.
